The Re-B team is working up a rich menu of interesting initiatives, the bees are buzzing and we've even had some lovely late Summer days...

  • Try your hand at Scything - Come and help us ‘mow’ the Goulburn Green wildflower strip in the traditional way on Saturday 31 August, 10.00 – 12.30. Enjoy some refreshments and the banter! And if you don’t feel up to the mowing, then your help with raking will be hugely appreciated. There may be cake…No need to book – just turn up! Any questions - email jb@pottersfarm.net
  • Garden tool and knife sharpening To coincide with the AppleFest on 5 October, Adam, of Surrey Sharpeners, will be setting up his mobile shop in the Betchworth Village Hall parking area, offering an on-site service from 9.30am before AppleFest is in full swing. More details here...
  • AppleFest- Not to be missed! Date for your diary: Saturday 5 October, from 1-4pm, Betchworth Village Hall. A day for all the family, whether or not you’re expecting a bumper apple crop. We’ll be running all our usual Apple Pressing, Juice Sales and Kids’ Activities, with delicious freshly pressed juice, cakes, puds, tea and coffees on offer all afternoon. Plus, you’ll find a whole host of new attractions. Find out more...
  • 4Bs Biodiversity park - what is it and how can you get involved? Take a look at the 4Bs Biodiversity dedicated website for more information. In the meantime, Re-B trustee, Norman Jackson, is planning to run a number of Biodiversity talks and workshops in the coming months. Find out more here.
  • Our mid-winter Wassail was a resounding success, with wassailers coming from far and wide. So we've already set the date for next year - Saturday 11th January 2025, 4-6pm - save the date! And we're planning a bit of extra fun for the next one, starting with a competition for the best Wassail hat.
  • We’ll continue our series of hands-on, practical workshops, possibly adding one on spoon whittling and another on the ‘Dead Hedging’ alternative to bonfire
  • Encouraged by the interest in fungi, we’re looking to start a seasonal series of guided foraging walks.  Maybe we finish each with a plant-based cooking evening too?

We’ll also continue our series of Zoom talks, bringing in experts to share their knowledge on-line.

You’ll hear more in future newsletters plus the occasional email alert from us. And if one or other of the above particularly floats your boat, let us know here. All feedback and ideas welcome!
