Betchworth Forest School 2024

FS end od season 2024 (800 x 4

We've now held our last Betchworth Forest School session for this year, which was a great success.

Many local young children enjoyed the ‘magical secret wood’ hidden away in our village, and watched first-hand the changes over the seasons in plant and insect life.

They made creatures out of wood, cooked over the camp fire and generally had a lovely time in a wonderful natural space. Above all, children have been able to form a curious, creative, informed and appreciative relationship with nature.

And we have 'Newt News!' During one of this year's Forest School sessions "We had the amazing treat of finding Great Crested Newts at Forest school today. A large female and about six young ones. They are a protected species. The first I’ve ever seen!" Milla Peterken reports.

We're open to children aged between 3 -10 years from Betchworth and surrounding villages. We've adjusted our pricing, which will apply to next year's Forest School sessions. If you bring an under 5 and stay, the price will be £10; the price remains the same, at £15, for all others.

All sessions are run by a qualified teacher and Forest School leader.
